Somerset County, Maryland
Moved over the years to new location.
Between King’s Creek Station & Kingston Station.
Located on the Pennsylvania Railroad line from Salisbury South to Crisfield. From what I understand, the station is no longer where it had served , but has been moved over the years. The building appears to be in very good condition.
In 1937, I found a small mention for Westover that trains going through the Town had to make two stops , as the conductors had to walk two grades along the line to make sure they were clear. There was a spur line that traveled from Westover to Crisfield. In 1919, a citizen of Westover who had done well in life traveled back to the Town in his new Limousine, and was involved in a wreck which killed the gentleman. It turns out the engineer of the train had been a good friend of the man in the limo. These grades must have been something as I read about auto accidents and trains in Westover well into the late 1960’s.
