1897, real estate ad placed for someone to rent nearby lot to plant corn .
In 1899, a $5.00 reward was offered for the arrest of the person(s) who took a horse and carriage that had been tied up at the Thurmont Station.
1916 – Property across from the Depot was being offered for sale.
Not really “Depot” related but in 1921……The mayor of Thurmont had a one dollar fine for anyone who left a motor car in the Town Square. The Dollar was for “Storage of the car” and was collected by the Mayor himself. Motorists were told to leave the cars outside of town.
We plan to have much more on Thurmont in the coming weeks. Hate to say it but ” Please stand by ……”
