Riderwood Train Station, Baltimore County – Maryland

Riderwood Maryland Train Station
Baltimore County
8.2 Miles North of Baltimore City
Between Ruxton Station to the South & Lutherville Station to the North

Way back in the day ( 1854 ) , near present Riderwood was Rider Grove, along the Baltimore & Susquehanna Railroad. On July 4th of that year, two trains had an accident which resulted in the deaths of at least 28 people. Several of the injured, which numbered about 60, did not look as if they were going to survive as well.

I don’t know why, but I have yet to post any of the photos I gathered over the years of the Riderswood Train Depot that had been along the Northern Central Railroad, In Baltimore County. The station is now along the present day light rail tracks North of Baltimore City, but isn’t the easiest old station to get a photograph of. It’s been converted into a private dwelling. I’ll locate those photos soon and post them ,
