These are pictures of the ” more recent ” station for Pocomoke City. It suffered a fire a few years back and sits, although I have heard there are plans in the works to renovate the building. I recently got a email that the old station is now being used by Pocomoke City and they have a train garden inside. As soon as we can, a Kilduffs Camera crew will be heading down that way .

Pocomoke City from what I have read is a Indian name, that mean’s ” Black Water”. I read an old article from 1900 which said the nearby Cypress ( spelled “Cypras” in the article trees and their roots are the the cause of the color of the water.

There was an earlier train station in Pocomoke City, and I was able to find a postcard for it, seen above. The older station was located at 100 North Railroad Avenue. ( Thank You Jerry Barbierri for the updates )
