In 1900, a passenger on a Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Passenger train at Perryville pulled a cord on the train for an emergency stop, but had no reason to pull the cord. He ended up getting two years in jail for his action.

Perryville Station, like many of the old depots of Maryland in the 1970’s stood boarded up.  In 1978 , refurbishing of the old station was taking place and as a result the station looks great today, still being used by MARC Trains. By 1991, the Perryville Station stood in for a old station in Long Island New York in a film called ” That Night ” , which had the scenery around the station put back to 1961.
