In 1884 , an article mentions the building of a new Railroad station in Hyattsville. The article also mentions the building of a station in Laurel, which should also open soon.
1887 , Hyattsville Depot is used as a selling point for a nearby home. The ad also mentions a ” electric railroad ” under construction near the site as well.
In 1889 , a real estate ad mentions the nearby Hyattsville Station in a selling feature of the home.
1894, an article starts off in ” Hyattsville is overrun with tramps”. Not sure what that had to do with the rest of the article, but the story goes on how a horse rider was thrown from his horse when a train passed in Hyattsville. The horse was badly injured and the rider was injured as well.
In 1895, a sad article tells of three young boys killed by a B&O train tat struck the boys as they walked along the tracks. They had just purchased a few pigeons and were walking home when struck by the train.
In 1899 , a ad for the Chesapeake Beach Railway Company gives mention to the B&O station in Hyattsville as a connection point.
Hyattsville Station gets a mention in 1913 in a article on driving your car from Baltimore to Mt Vernon. On the trip down, you would have to cross the tracks in your vehicle near Hyattsville Station.
In 1943, a army officer was struck by a train and killed along the tracks near the Hyattsville Station.
In 1947, two men were killed when the car they were in was struck by a train in Hyattsville, close to the station.
