Baltimore County’s Halethorpe Depot
In 1890- a Real Estate ad mentioned it was within walking distance of Halethorpe and Winans stations and one I had never heard of before, Quarantine Station.
1892- A wreck between a freight train and a passenger train at the Halethorpe Station was reported on with only a few injuries and a good amount of damage to the trains.
In 1898, one real esate “auction” sale ad mentioned that both Halethorpe and Winan Stations were within walking distance.
In 1905 – Halethorpe Station was mentioned in real esate ads for land in the area as a selling point.
In 1910 – A big Airshow was being held in Halethorpe, and as a result the B&O Railroad stopped every train passing through at the station so people could attend. A special train on the B&O from Belmont Park NY carried the aircraft down to Halethorpe.
In 1920 – one ad I found for Real Estate mentions the West Halethorpe Station.
1927 – Station got yet another mention as a short walk away from the Station.
