Hagerstown – Cumberland Valley Railroad
Cumberland Valley & Norfolk & Western Railroad
There were actually three old railroad stations in Hagerstown, with only one still standing today. The Western Maryland Railroad Station still stands, while the B&O and Cumberland Valley Stations have been torn down. We have located three old postcards of the Cumberland Valley station, although I have found it to be referred to simply as the “Cumberland Railroad”.
The 1897 Maryland Geological Survey mentions the old “Cumberland Railroad station when pinpointing the location of a Geological site marker. The marker was 500 feet from the East of the old station, and 300 feet West from the B&O Station. This old station was built in 1884 and torn down around 1967.
