Goldsboro Train Station – Maryland

Goldsboro Maryland Train Station
Philadelphia, Baltimore & Wilmington Railroad
Pennsylvania Railroad
Caroline County

The Goldsboro Train Depot in Maryland, Caroline County, last seen by Kilduff’s. The station is listed as from the 1880’s era, although we found a news article from 1910 for the contract awarded to have the station built. Likely for updating and renovations.
On 1909 , there was mention that the Goldsboro Depot had undergone some improvements, although the article mentioned some flower box outside the station would have been nice as well.
In 1913, a man was killed by a train passing the Goldsboro Depot, as the tractor he had been riding in was struck by a passing train. The jury advised it felt the train was traveling too fast through the Town.
A schedule for 1916 listed Goldsboro between Henderson Station ( 19 minutes away ) and Greensboro Station ( 12 minutes away).
I guess because the station was in Henderson for so long, some people have confused this building as being the Henderson Train Depot. I’m researching that one as well, but for the record this is the Goldsboro Train Depot.

In 2005, after spending 20 plus years in nearby Henderson Maryland at the “Caroline Acres Trailer Park”, the Goldsboro Depot made it’s way back to Goldsboro. The roof had the be removed for the journey, but the trip seemed to go well.
