Berlin Station – Worcester County – Maryland PRR

From what I can gather, nothing remains of the old Berlin Maryland passenger train station. The tracks are still being used, but the station that had stood behind what is currently the Fire Station in town is gone. There was a freight station on the other side of town that has also been torn down from what I can tell. They wanted to make a excursion train out of Berlin a few years back and were looking to build a small station in the town.

Most of the news articles I found under the name ” Berlin” comes up to Europe, but I did find a sad story of a crash just north of Berlin , in 1916, along the Delaware, Maryland & Virginia RR tracks, involving a car and a train that resulted in deaths. In 1916, there was a mention in the paper of trains that traveled from Claiborne, Md. to Berlin Md.

In 1904, Berlin is listed as the transfer point for passengers coming from Franklin City, Virginia to Ocean City, Maryland.
