Aiken Station – Cecil County Maryland B&O RR

Baltimore & Ohio Railroad – Cecil County Maryland
Likely torn down
Station to the North , Jackson (Cecil County)  – Station to the South – Havre De Grace (Harford County)

In 1897, a train derailed at the station on it’s way to Baltimore. Apparently the train engine and tender had heavy damage as a result of the accident.

In 1899, according to a newspaper article, a 12 year old child was attempting to get onto a train at the station, and slipped, falling underneath the train and losing a leg. There is no mention why the child was trying to get onto a moving train.
The 1904 Gazetteer lists Aiken as a Post Village along the B&O Railroad.
A highway map from the late 1950’s we found shows the Aiken Station marked. putting it just about where I-95 passes through today.
