This is the history of Sherwood Plymouth as I figure it out. They were for years Sherwood Ford, and before that Sherwood Chrysler , and Sherwood Plymouth. The address in the ads was 5104 York Rd. They moved to York Rd from 1100 East 25th Street, in 1961. before becoming Sherwood Chrysler, the address was being used by Mid- Towne Plymouth and I saw the name Pat Hays in one ad in 1957.
5104 York Road before Mid Towne Chrysler was known as Brand Desoto, and I’m not sure what kind of dealership showroom it had. In 1948, Brand Motors shows an address a mile down the road at 4401 York Rd. 1946 was the first year Brand posted an ad under that name and in that name was selling tires, but moved up to De Soto car sales.
