Baltimore & Ohio Railroad
We have an old postcard of the Frankville Station, but we just have to locate it.
In 1876 – ex governor of Maryland Francis ( Frank ) Thomas of Frankville was struck and killed by a passing train on mile east of the Frankville Station. In later years, his old mansion building burned down in 1908. The old mansion was a site for people passing on Baltimore & Ohio passenger trains.
In 1960, a train derailed near the Frankville Station. It was mentioned at the area was long known for train derailments, with 5 occurring in recent months.
