Mount Royal & Maryland Avenue
From about 1920 to 1933, the Lambert Motor Car Company operated from what I can tell from a dealership at the corner of Mount Royal Avenue and Maryland Avenue. 1919 found an ad for the dealership for Alcogas where you would be able to see the engine of a car in detail. The earliest mention of Lambert I found so far was 1915. In 1924, Lambert had a booth at the Baltimore Car Show at the Fifth Regiment Arm0ry. They were again listed at the auto show in 1931 . In 1930, Lambert was opening a second site at 5417 Harford Rd. Also in 1930, I found mention of Lambert’s being located at 116 West Read Street.
In 1933, Lambert was advertising the sale of Hudson’s and Essex Motor cars. By the early 1930’s, I believe Lambert’s went out of business. Around the time the name of Lambert was being used in Baltimore, the name Lambert was noticed as being a dealership in Hagerstown. Not sure if there was a connection, but I’ll keep researching.
