Eudowood Station

Towson Maryland Ma & Pa Railroad

Just North of Towson is an area know over the years as “Eudowood” I remember shopping back in the 1980’s in a shopping area known as Eudowood Plaza. There’s still a shopping complex there, but I’m not sure what name it goes under these days. It’s in the general area of Goucher Blvd and Joppa Road.
An old train schedule for the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad ( AKA – Ma & Pa RR ) shows the Eudowood Station just after the Towson Station and there are also references of a Towson Hgts Station.
We were able to find a few items regarding the Eudowood Station. In 1885 a man was killed on the platform of the station when he fell onto the tracks.
In 1886 , a real Estate ad had a home on Hillen Road, just a mile of Eudowood STation for sale.
In 1890, the land Eudowood and surrounding grounds were being sold. 135 acres including the Eudowood Farm.
Planners were working on the train tracks to straightened out sharp curves around Towson up to Eudowood Station.

In later years, all the news account of ” Eudowood” are in reference to the Santorium under that name in the area, but I have to find an article of the train station and hospital in the same mention.
