Up until 1892, this location was used by the railroad as the livestock point, for the shipping of livestock in Baltimore. Often referred as West Baltimore, In 1892, the stockyards were moved as the growth of the City made it necessary, to a parcel of property along the railroad west of Gwynn’s Falls.
The 1904 Gazetteer of Maryland lists the station as within the chartered limits of Baltimore City, along the Philadelphia, Baltimore & Washington Railroad.
