Old Behrend Ford Dealership – Converted to Baltimore City Usage

This old 1949 Ad from the Dealership shows just about the same spot as above.I read that when the dealership opened this location up in the 1940’s, Mayor Jackson of Baltimore City presented the owners with the keys to the building.
The Finishing of the JFX around 1963 brought the dealership traffic off of I-695. The location which appears to have all the original buildings is difficult to believe that once a Car Dealership was at this location.
Behrend Motors , 500 Fallsway , Baltimore City – 1946
While we are still digging on information on this location of Behrend Ford in downtown Baltimore, the dealership had several other locations used prior and while they used this location. In 1934, Behrend Motors was located at 1507 North Gay Street in East Baltimore City. Ads for the dealership showed an address of 3429 Belair Road. In 1940, they noted both the above addresses on North Gay Street and Belair Road. It appears the dealership opened the Fallsway location in the 1940 and we found references to the dealership up until around 1966.
