Maryland Armory Buildings

–

While on many of the Kilduff’s picture shoots, we saw Armory Buildings around the State and always wondered about them. I tried to look them up online, but would only find a image here, and a description there. Kilduff’s figured it was time for one webpage to be designed with all of the old Armory Buildings on it. I think the page is best on the Kilduffs.com page right now, with images being easier to see,but as time allows it, Kilduffs.net should have better sized images as well.

Click anywhere in this text field for the Kilduffs.com Armory page.

As of  2022, we have 22 old Armory Buildings located, photographed and added to this page. With a collection of old postcards, a total of 36 images have been posted.

This is a complete photo log of the Armory Buildings around the State of Maryland. I have old the ” older style ” buildings, having recently added Kensingston & Cumberland. There are lots more photos and postcards on the Kilduffs.com page.

I added Towson and soon will add Pikesville, although they aren’t exactly what the page is about. I could never find the OLD Salisbury, but my research places it at Division and Centre Streets, and if that’s correct, the City Library now occupies that site. There is a newer Armory Building out on Rt 50, but it’s not the style we are looking at. If there is anything I missed , please let me know. KilduffsTheatreIndex@gmail.com. Also beginning to locate a few Art Deco style Armories in the State, recently finding Frostburg , LaPlata and Prince Frederick.  I had heard of a Armory in Silver Spring, but research found it had been torn down. We did locate a postcard for it ( above)   Any tips for more would be great .
