Dorchester & Delaware Railroad
Philadelphia, Baltimore & Washington Railroad
This small station, or part of it, may still be standing. Apparently, the structure was moved a few feet from where it sat along the railroad tracks. We have checked the area a few times, but we don’t like photographing people’s homes, so we’ll wait on this one for some time. I have also seen this station listed as Airey.
Airey was listed in an article where a vehicle had an accident with a train in the area of Linkwood, but everyone walked away from that accident. A 1913 Real Estate ad mentions access to the Aireys’s Station, and a 1916 Excursion train to Ocean City made a stop on Aireys which was reportedly the last Excursion train of the the year. I did check google image and found the area where the station might have been.
Listed in 1904 as the Aireys station along the Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington Railroad in Dorchester County, Md.
